As we get closer to Thanksgiving, I have found myself very focused on space. How we are consistently giving and take it from ourselves and from others.
When was the last time you gave yourself space? The type of space that provides you the freedom to dream, reflect and be mindful?
Our lives have become so busy, so measured by success in our careers. It’s like we have forgotten how to be peaceful, caring and compassionate with ourselves.
I find it helpful to think of living a life of wellness and gratitude like a homemade recipe. You start with taking the time to find the finest ingredients, sourced naturally. Allow all things in balance with each other knowing that when you blend them together true magic can happen. Include anyone you can in the experience, as all great things are worth sharing. Don’t rush the process by cutting corners. And lastly, enjoy the fruits of your labors.
My Thanks”giving” Challenge
- Find three people you can give space to. This could be helping a friend or neighbor take the time to do something mindful and peaceful. Give money or time to a charity so they have the gift of time to focus on their cause. Is this helping someone to take that time with their family?
- Find three ways to give space to your family. Is this taking 3 opportunities to truly connect and be present in your time together? Is it taking three opportunities to provide the safe space of no-judgment?
- Find three ways to give space to yourself. Is this taking time for meditation and mindfulness? Is it taking a quiet walk to reflect? Or finding time to focus on what makes you happy?
From my family to yours, I wish you a truly thankful and gratitude filled Thanksgiving.
