Yoga Nidra and the Ether Element

Yoga Nidra isn’t just rest. It’s re-patterning the mind and expanding your capacity to thrive

This module gives you a practical framework for understanding Yoga Nidra through the lens of the ether element—and we'd love to have you join us. You'll learn how to work with conscious rest, re-pattern the mind, and cultivate expansion. And you'll explore the parts of yourself that feel sticky—the ones that make silence, stillness, and spaciousness feel unsafe—because that is where the real work happens.

Grounded in Viniyoga and the ether element, this module reframes Yoga Nidra as a practice of conscious rest and mind re-patterning—not just relaxation. Together, we’ll explore the qualities of Akasha (ether), the upper chakras, and how to work with the koshas as a framework for exploration. We’ll learn how to work with the window of tolerance, its edges, and our capacity to be with life—because this is where we thrive

What you'll learn

We’ll begin with a question: What does it mean to rest consciously?

Then, we’ll explore the ether element and how it shows up in practice—openness, expansiveness, capacity. And the challenge of it: the silence, the stillness, the spaciousness where literally anything is possible, and the parts of us that find that unsafe.

We’ll work with the koshas—one, some, or all—as a framework for exploration. We’ll work with the window of tolerance, its edges, and our capacity to be with life. And we’ll learn how to write Yoga Nidra practices that meet people where they are.

We wait until the end to work with ether for a reason. It’s the most challenging—and the most transformative. This is where we work on the parts that feel sticky. This is how we thrive.

What Makes This Module Different

Most Yoga Nidra trainings teach you a script. This one teaches you a framework—koshas, ether element, and the window of tolerance—so you can work with the practice intentionally and meet people where they are.

You’ll learn how to work with the koshas, how to work at the edges of the window, how to hold space for the challenge of spaciousness, and how to write Yoga Nidra practices that support conscious rest and mind re-patterning. And you’re learning in a live, cohort-based environment where you can practice these skills with real people, in real time.

The Be K.I.N.D. Embodied Wisdom Methodology

We’ll apply the Be K.I.N.D. Embodied Wisdom Methodology through a Yoga Nidra and ether element lens. Keen Observation helps you see where people need rest, expansion, or support in the sticky parts. Interoceptive Awareness builds the capacity to sense what’s happening in the body and mind. Nurturing Action supports compassionate action for what needs attention. And Developing Embodied Practices gives you the tools to support yourself and others over time.

Throughout the module, we’ll learn together. This is a live, cohort-based module, so you’re not just learning from me—we are all learning from each other.

Hi, I'm Melanie

For over thirty years, I’ve been where you are—passionate about yoga’s healing potential but disillusioned by trainings that prioritize perfect poses over people. That’s why I founded the Life of Wellness Institute: to create a different kind of teacher training. Your lived experience matters more than handstands here. Nervous system science trumps rigid alignment cues. Ultimately, you’ll learn to build a career that sustains both your students and yourself.

My approach—honed through three decades as a yoga therapist and trauma educator—is what I call sacred pragmatism. No spiritual bypassing. No toxic positivity. Instead, just proven tools: breathwork adapted for real trauma recovery, movement that respects anatomical diversity, and business strategies that let you teach from integrity instead of burnout.

Over the years, hundreds of teachers have used this framework to carve their own paths—in hospitals, nonprofits, and private practices where their work actually changes lives. Now, I’m sharing every lesson I’ve learned so you can skip years of trial and error and step confidently into your calling.

This philosophy isn’t academic for me. It’s the lens I’ve used for over thirty years to understand people, trauma, and what it means to heal. That’s what I’m sharing with you.

Ultimately, this isn’t just about teaching yoga. It’s about creating spaces where healing happens—and making a living while you do it.

No pressure, just clarity!
