Bhagavad Gita Study: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Practice
The Bhagavad Gita isn’t just a text. It’s a guide for navigating the challenges of life and teaching.
This module gives you an advanced framework for studying the Bhagavad Gita—and we'd love to have you join us. You'll explore this foundational text through a reflective, practice-oriented lens, examining how its teachings apply to your life, your teaching, and the world around you. This is not just a study of ancient wisdom—it's a practice of bringing that wisdom to life.
Grounded in the Bhagavad Gita and a reflective, practice-oriented approach, this module reframes the study of ancient texts as a guide for living and teaching. Together, we’ll explore the key teachings of the Gita, examine how they apply to modern life, and consider how this wisdom can inform your teaching, your relationships, and your sense of purpose. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of the Gita and a more grounded connection to its teachings.
What you'll learn
We’ll begin with a question: What does the Gita mean to you?
Then, we’ll explore the Bhagavad Gita—the key teachings, the historical context, and the relevance of this ancient text to modern practice. We’ll examine the paths of devotion, knowledge, and action, and consider how they apply to your life and teaching.
We’ll also reflect on how the Gita’s teachings on purpose, duty, and surrender can inform your work as a teacher. And we’ll consider how this wisdom can guide you in times of challenge and uncertainty.
This matters because the Gita isn’t just a text to study. It is a guide for living—a map for navigating the challenges of life and teaching with clarity, purpose, and steadiness.
What Makes This Module Different
Most Gita studies teach you what the text says. This one teaches you how to live it. You’re not just memorizing verses. You are learning how to apply the wisdom of the Gita to your life, your teaching, and your relationships.
You’re not just studying the Gita. You are studying how it speaks to you—and how you can bring that wisdom to others.
The Be K.I.N.D. Embodied Wisdom Methodology
We’ll apply the Be K.I.N.D. Embodied Wisdom Methodology through the lens of Gita study. Keen Observation helps you see how the Gita’s teachings land in your life and practice. Interoceptive Awareness builds your capacity to notice how the text resonates in your body and mind. Nurturing Action supports a compassionate, curious approach to study and application. And Developing Embodied Practices gives you the tools to integrate the wisdom of the Gita into your daily life and teaching.
Throughout the module, we’ll learn together. This is a live, cohort-based module, so you’re not just learning from me—we are all learning from each other.

Hi, I'm Melanie
For over thirty years, I’ve been where you are—passionate about yoga’s healing potential but disillusioned by trainings that prioritize perfect poses over people. That’s why I founded the Life of Wellness Institute: to create a different kind of teacher training. Your lived experience matters more than handstands here. Nervous system science trumps rigid alignment cues. Ultimately, you’ll learn to build a career that sustains both your students and yourself.
My approach—honed through three decades as a yoga therapist and trauma educator—is what I call sacred pragmatism. No spiritual bypassing. No toxic positivity. Instead, just proven tools: breathwork adapted for real trauma recovery, movement that respects anatomical diversity, and business strategies that let you teach from integrity instead of burnout.
Over the years, hundreds of teachers have used this framework to carve their own paths—in hospitals, nonprofits, and private practices where their work actually changes lives. Now, I’m sharing every lesson I’ve learned so you can skip years of trial and error and step confidently into your calling.
This philosophy isn’t academic for me. It’s the lens I’ve used for over thirty years to understand people, trauma, and what it means to heal. That’s what I’m sharing with you.
Ultimately, this isn’t just about teaching yoga. It’s about creating spaces where healing happens—and making a living while you do it.
No pressure, just clarity!
